Biography In 1989 Aleksey Umnov graduated from Radiophysics Department in Nizhny Novgorod State University. Since 1989 has been teaching in the Nizhny Novgorod State University, in 2000 he was appointed the associate professor of the Electrodynamics Subdepartment of the Radiophysics Department of the NNSU. In 1998 he received the Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
Since 2002 Mr. Umnov headed the Laboratory "Physical Fundamentals and Technologies of Wireless Communications" in the NNSU, founded and supported by Intel corporation. He ran a number of innovation projects on wireless connection systems and services, initiated by such companies, as Intel, Microsoft and others. Specifically, he managed development of long-distane WiFi communication, built with use of phased antenna array.
Since 2005 Mr. Umnov has been the co-founder and the director of the group of companies, working in wireless networks market. The companies has introduced to the market such products as Oil Wells Parameters Wireless Monitoring System, Utilities Meters Wireless Supervision System, Mobile Wireless Security System, urban traffic monitoring Internet service DorogaTV. The group has also developed a number of mobile information and educational services (mLearning). |
