Kendrick D. White (48), has extensive venture capital fund management experience as well as corporate finance consulting and direct executive management experience, accumulated during his 19 years of full time work in Russia. In 2005, Mr. White founded Marchmont Capital Partners, LLC, an investment advisory firm focused on VC and PE finance raising in various innovation sectors. This US registered enterprise is based in Nizhny Novgorod and has developed a wide network of consulting partnerships in key cities across the RF. In 2007, Mr. White created the Marchmont Media division which published the Marchmont Investment Guide to Russia journal and currently operates the www.Marchmontnews.com website which covers regional investment news for finance professionals. Since 2008, Marchmont has been responsible for organizing the “Business Leaders Investment Forum”, a monthly event held in key regional capital cities across the RF. This event brings together scientific innovators, business owners, investors and political leaders – together with a wide range of expert speakers from Moscow and abroad - with the aim of promoting regional manufacturing investments into modernization. Mr. White is an expert in the field of early stage innovation project commercialization and was appointed in 2006 as one of the five private sector members of the US Russia Innovation Council on High Technologies, (ICHT), a Presidential Commission focused on developing policy proposals for the Russian government aimed at promoting Russia’s innovation economy and improving commercial business ties between the US and Russia technology sectors. Mr. White is also a member of the Independent Directors Association, (IDA), and Marchmont also holds membership in the US Russia Business Council (USRBC), the Russo British Chamber of Commerce, (RBCC) as well as many other regional Trade Associations. From 1998 to 2005, Mr. White was Director of the Quadriga Central Russia Regional Venture Fund (CR RVF), a USD $50.0 million private equity fund financed by the EBRD and the German KfW. He oversaw the implementation of numerous successful investment projects during this time, including Nizhpharm, now part of the STADA Group, Bridgetown Foods, a top FMCG snack food producer, and Multiflex, the leading flexible packaging producer in Russia. Other co-investments made by the CR RVF included; ROC, ERA Trading, Speech Technology, Pekar and Morion electronics. Between 1995 and 1998, Mr. White worked in the Corporate Finance Division of Price Waterhouse Coopers, where he was specifically seconded as a Senior Advisor to the Russian Privatization Center (RPC) and its Volga Vyatsky branch division in Nizhny Novgorod. Mr. White was responsible for training 22 Russian consultants in three provincial regions of Central Russia on the development of a self sustainable investment advisory center for SME businesses seeking market expansion and growth capital. Between 1992 and 1995, Mr. White worked as an advisor to the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Administration and the “EPI center” think tank, where he focused his efforts on developing post privatization SME development programs, and establishing one of Russia’s first training centers dedicated to emerging entrepreneurs. This work resulting in numerous new company formations and helped to establish the region as a leader in Russia’s reform process and conversion from a command to a market driven economy. Prior to arriving in Russia, Mr. White worked from 1985 to 1992 at ABN/Amro - LaSalle Bank, in Chicago, IL, in various management positions in Strategic Planning, Cash Mgt and M&A. Mr. White holds an MBA in Finance & Int’l Business from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (1990), Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and a BA degree in International Economics from Stetson University (1985), DeLand, FL. Mr. White lived full time in the city of Nizhny Novgorod and is married with two children.

Ilya Ponomarev
Deputy, State Duma of the Russian Federation, the adviser to the President of Skolkovo Fund on international development and technologies commercialization, Moscow
Ilya Ponomarev has more than 20 years of international operational and investment experience working in high technology industries with primary focus on IT and energy. During recent decade it was complemented with active political and social life involvement as well as government relations practice. Currently Ilya is a member of Russian Parliament – State Duma, Social Democrat representing Novosibirsk – the capital of Siberia, and chairing Hi-Tech developing subcommittee, introducing legislation to support emerging innovation economy in Russia. Among his recent achievements is the amendment to the Civil Code, legalizing LLPs in Russia, and Net Businesses Act. He also heads International Business Development, Commercialization and Technology Transfer for Skolkovo Foundation – managing company of the project chaired by Pres. Medvedev, which is to become the spinal cord of Russian innovation ecosystem. Before being elected, Hon. Ponomarev was working for Secretary of IT and Telecom as national coordinator for hi-tech parks task force - $6 bln. private-public project to develop a network of small settlements across the country for fostering innovation and R&D activities. Earlier Ilya held various positions in government offices and private companies. Most remarkable positions include: - Vice president for strategy, regional development and government relations at IBS, largest Russian system integrator and consulting company; - Vice president of Yukos Oil Company, largest Russian oil and gas corporation. Ilya’s duties during 4 years at Yukos at different times included being corporate CIO as well as chief executive and chief of operations in Yukos’ oilfield technologies and services subsidiaries and daughter investment company (specialized in high technologies); - Director for Business Development and Marketing in CIS for Schlumberger Oilfield Services, responsible for scouting, adopting into Schlumberger product lines and further global marketing of Russia-originated technologies in energy sector. Before joining Schlumberger, Ilya was among founders of two successful high technology start-ups in Russia. His first job position was in Institute for Nuclear Safety (IBRAE), Russian Academy of Sciences. Ilya Ponomarev holds BSc in Physics from Moscow State University. He is member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (IT), Council for Foreign and Defense Policies, Council for National Strategy, fellow at “Open Russia” foundation. Hon. Ponomarev is supervising innovation policies research at Institute of Contemporary Development (INSOR, think-tank chaired by Pres. Medvedev), and political studies at Institute of Globalization Studies (IPROG). He is member of Central Committee, Political Party “Fair Russia” (Social Democrats). Hon. Ponomarev is an author of numerous research papers and magazine articles about new economy development, regional policies and international relations.
Vladimir Nikonov
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novosibirsk region – Minister, Novosibirsk
Born in Sverdlovsk region in 1952, Mr Nikonov studied at Kuybyshev Aircraft Institute. After graduating he worked as a shopfloor manager at Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant working his way to eventually become the assistant director general for economy at Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association n.a. Chkalov. A graduate of Siberian Institute of Finance and Banking, in 2002 Vladimir Nikonov joined Novosibirsk administration as the head of communications system of Novosibirsk region administration to be later responsible for the transport complex. As of 2006 Mr Nikonov is the vice-governor of Novosibirsk region.

Director of the Novosibirsk regional Fund of Support of a Science and Innovation Activity; Chief executive of non-commercial organization “Fund for Assistance in Venture Investment Development into Small Enterprises in Scientific-and-Technological Field of the Novosibirsk Region”. More than 28 years worked in Novosibirsk Electrotechnical Institute (Novosibirsk State Technical University) as a lecturer, head of scientific research sector, deputy pro-rector for research, pro-rector for commercialization. Since 1995 to 2005 – head of innovation projects department in Novosibirsk regional administration under the committee for regional scientific-and-technological policy and scientific-and-educational complex of the central economic planning administration of the Novosibirsk region. 15 years ago with his active assistance Technopark “Novosibirsk” was created, approved by executive order of the President of the Russian Federation “About creation of scientific and technological park “Novosibirsk”” and now works successfully. B.I. Ivlev is one of the first in Russia who mastered venture investment technology and is an expert in innovation policy questions.

Daniel Satinsky is a recognized authority on the Russian business environment, particularly the current focus on building a knowledge-based economy. Most recently, he was one of the principal authors of a study of worldwide innovation best practices and their application to Russia that was done under the auspices of the New York Academy of Sciences and entitled Yaroslavl Roadmap 10-15-20. He is also a regular contributor to the Modern Russia website. Marina Ananich

Graduated from Novosibirsk Engineer Institute of geodesics, aerophotography and cartography, educated in the sphere of microprocessor-based systems, marketing and advertising, PhD in Technical Sciences and dean academic title. Since 1991 – lecture at several higher educational institutions of Novosibirsk region, published several textbooks, including marketing and advertising spheres. One of her books “Foundations Of Advertising” is very popular among experts. Since 2001 worked her way up from head of high and supplementary professional education division in Science, innovation, informatization and connection department of Novosibirsk region to deputy minister of education, science and innovation. Aleksander Troshnev

Aleksander was born in Omsk, graduated from Novosibirsk physico-mathematical school, Novosibirsk State University with specialization in “semiconductor physics”. Being a student Alexander began to work on innovation projects: his developments in non-destructive quality control of semiconductor bodies won the first prize at “All-Union Scientific Student Conference” and was practically applied. After the university he worked in the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, continuing his developments in non-destructive control. In 1994 he joined “SiBell” company, specializing on creating a unique electronic chip and software and hardware complex for information protection on hard disk drive at that time, and also was the first company in Novosibirsk which started to produce software and hardware for filling station’s management. At that time he was also engaged in attracting investments into development and promotion of power field-controlled transistor with vertical breechblock, with the help of his laboratory from the Institute of Semiconductor Physics. In 1995 Alexander co-founded “SB-Kad” company, specializing on creating and promoting software and hardware complex to manage filling stations. In 1999 he became a co-founder and director of “Trans-Karta” company, focused on creating and promoting customer service system of filling stations by the use of smart cards, and then contactless cards. A unique technique of customer service and information exchange with remote terminal, client base with more than 500 companies were created under his direction and company’s turnover exceeded 50 million rub. in one year. Keeping in touch with his colleagues from Novosibirsk Academgorodok, Alexander is seeking for new ideas and technologies for commercialization. As a result, he created Novosibirsk Regional Venture Investment Center with his partners Arcady Popov and Sergey Melchenko in 2008 and became the general director of the company.

In 2003 defended a PhD thesis in political science on the topic “Prognostication and its role in military political decision making”. Since 2007 has been working in innovative sphere, being a regular participant of workshops and trainings in development of small and middle-sized enterprises and innovative and venture business. Andrey Linyushin has got successful experience in consulting guidance of innovative companies and establishing business and technology partnerships between companies and / or scientific organizations.

Since 1993 Mr Badulin has been the founder and general director of investment and finance company Samotlor-Invest based in Nizhnevartovsk, Tyumen region. He completed a course at Expert Systems, Russian company involved in business development solutions. Mr Badulin is a certified professional in using the Project Expert 7.0 program software. In 2010 Nikolay Badulin was nominated to the title of the Business Angel of the Year by the European Business Angles Network (EBAN).

In 2008 realized social educational project, aimed at the establishment of relations` between Novosibirsk and regional centers. In autumn 2009 Anton was invited to work out regional program «Innovations» in the project group set up by the Youth Affairs Office of the Novosibirsk Region. Since January 2010 run the supporting and promoting innovations project «Lavrentiev’s Breakthrough».

The Senior lecture of Psychology Department of Tomsk State University. The coordinator of research work of students and young scientists of psychology department of TSU. She has finished Tomsk state university on a speciality «the Psychologist. The teacher of psychology» in 2003 with distinction. Since 2004 she works on the psychology department of TSU. She has passed more than 15 programs of additional training and improvement of professional skill in spheres of psychology, management and business. She has 5-year-old experience of Counseling Psychology. Since 2008 specializes in psychology of innovative activity and business. She is one of authors of the complete set of programs of psychological & educational support of innovative activity of the youth, which was awarded by a medal of the competition "Siberian Athenes" of X Inter-regional exhibition-fair «Formation. Career. Employment», 2010ã. The author more than 30 scientific publications. She was the head and the executor more than 20 grants. Twice the Winner of the award of the Tomsk region in an education sphere and sciences. Member of the Russian psychological society.
