Vladivostok awaits APEC with $239m in RF bridge money

28 Jan '09
The Primorsky regional government has received $239m from federal coffers for construction of a bridge between Vladivostok and the Isle of Russky where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit is planned for 2012, Arendator.ru reported today.

The 3.15-kilometer-long bridge is reportedly to be 70 meters above water.

Marchmont reported earlier that the Primorsky regional administration had approved a summit preparation program that stipulated construction of two bridges across the Zolotoi Rog River and the Bosporus Oriental Strait to the Isle of Russky where modern infrastructure is to be built (see news of Jan. 20).
