Kazan start-up rediscovers Latin America for Russian cloud logistics

9 Nov '15
Transnovatsia, a Russian IT developer based in Kazan, in the mid-Volga area, has begun its Latin American expansion. The start-up has raised Chilean government funds and is putting together a pilot project in Santiago, reported the Skolkovo Foundation that manages Russias most widely touted innovation hub under construction just outside Moscow. Transnovatsia is a resident company of Skolkovos IT cluster.

Set up in 2012, the start-up has been pushing its cloud computing based project aimed at developing algorithms for analysis of transport logistics flows. It is expected that its new software complex will help improve both passenger and freight transportation through vehicle dispatch and distribution automation and IT-aided itinerary optimization.

Transnovatsia is reported to have joined Chiles largest accelerator program called StartUp Chile and received local government support in starting its business in that country. According to Firrma.ru, in addition to an initial $40,000 investment the accelerator program helps the Russian company get going and pick partners to get its project off the Chilean ground.

StartUp Chile is a program for innovative companies, which is run by CORFO, Chiles national agency for economic development. Launched in 2010, the program aims to attract seed-stage companies with the potential to expand and successfully develop in the Latin American and wider global markets.

The Latin American market appears very interesting to us with its profuse populations and lively road traffic. We can find applications for our solutions here, said Ruslan Naumov, the co-founder of Transnovatsia.
