Authorities in St. Petersburg have announced an open tender for a contract to design Teatralnaya metro station and a line track from Teatralnaya to Spasskaya station.

The starting maximum contract price is reportedly set at $7.6m.

Under the tender conditions, the new station has to be island station, a 30-car parking lot has to be located nearby.

The line between Spasskaya and Teatralnaya stations is to have traffic capacity of 40 trains per hour, the officials said.

The station design has to be completed by 2013, with construction scheduled to be carried out in 2015-2017.
