Yamal eyes $2.1bn bridge

A $2.1bn bridge over the Ob river is to be built in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Interfax reports.

Of the total funding, $1.9m is reportedly to be assigned from the federal budget, with $200m to be put up by district authorities.

Under plans, the 7.5-kilometer two-level bridge is to link the towns of Labytanagi and Salekhard.

The project was designed by local firm Uralstroy Technology.

Timeframes for the project have yet to be announced.
