Dagestan in for $580m transportation program

The Republic of Dagestan (Northern Caucasus) is to present investment projects in transportation worth over $580m at the Sochi-2008 International Investment Forum this September, regional Ministry of Industry, Transport and Communications reported earlier.

One of the major projects to be presented is a $183.5m Makhachkala sea port development program, Ministry official added.

Other projects of investors' interest include a $211.5m railway ferry linking Caspian ports, a $63m remote roadstead terminal, and $121m worth of renovation of Makhachkala-based ship-building plant Sudoremont.
