3 Dec '08
A project to build a bridge over the river Vakh to link Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and Tomsk region is to get $29m in 2009, Tomsk officials today said.

The bridge is being built to link the city of Nizhevartovsk in Khanty-Mansiysk and Strizhevoy in Tomsk region.

Under plans, half the funding package is to come from Khanty-Mansiysk's regional budget, while Tomsk's regional budget and federal sources will both stump up another 25%.

Overall some $214m is expected to be invested in the bridge, which is due to open in 2012.
