East-Siberian Railways invests $51m in Buryatia

Interregional rail operator East-Siberian Railways has invested a total of $51m in modernization of nine double track sections at its North Baikal department in the Republic of Buryatia in 2008-2009, the company reports.

To date, six sections have been put into commission – Senatorsky, Koyra, Arkum, Marikta, Kavokta and Takovka. Three other sections are scheduled to start operating by the end of the year.

East-Siberian Railways is a part of federal rail operator Russian Railways.
