Kinomax cinema chain expands to Kirov

Moscow-based cinema chain Kinomax has announced plans to open a multi-hall cinema in Kirov in 2009.

Investment in the project hasn't been disclosed, but is estimated by experts at $4m.

The cinema is reportedly to be opened in the city's Jam Mall, where the company has rented 2,225-square-meter area.

The cinema in Kirov is opened under the firm's regional expansion strategy. Under plans, by 2010 the company will open 50 cinemas throughout Russia.

The next to open are cinemas in Izhevsk, Rostov-on-Don, Yaroslavl, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Saratov, Novorossiysk and Astrakhan.
