A $200m center for polar tourism is to be built in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, officials report.
The project is reportedly to be financed by private investors, including an as-yet-unnamed Finnish corporation and a number of large banks.
Under the project, the center, to be located on the Polar Circle, is to include Yamal Iri residency of North Grandpa, hotels and cottages for 1,000 people, restaurants, concert hall and helicopter ground.
Timeframes for the project have yet to be disclosed.
