26 Aug '21
The Nuclear Medicine Center in the Skolkovo medical cluster will be launched by the end of 2023, Andrey Bochkarev, Moscow Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction, said on Friday.
A Nuclear Medicine Center with an area of about 20 thousand square meters will appear in the International Medical Cluster. It will become the first center in the world to compactly accommodate all the main technologies of nuclear medicine, said Bochkarev, quoted by the press service.
He noted that, in addition to clinical work, it will be possible to establish the production of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostics and drugs for radionuclide therapy. The center also plans to conduct research activities.
In addition, the unique equipment that will be installed there, including an accelerator for proton beam therapy and a cyclotron, will allow the center to become a platform for the provision of high-tech oncological care, added Ildar Khairullin, General Director of the Skolkovo Medical Center Foundation.
Earlier, the head of the Moscow construction department, Rafik Zagrutdinov, reported that work is currently underway on the territory of the Skolkovo medical cluster at four facilities: a multifunctional medical center (mall), a biotechnological laboratories, apart-hotel and healing gardens.
The Skolkovo International Medical Cluster, in addition to clinical services itself, will become a center for scientific research, development of new medical technologies and drugs, as well as attracting the best medical and educational practices to Russia, Zagrutdinov said.
The Israeli Hadassah clinic, the Bundan hospital in South Korea and the Roman Fernandez clinic in Spain are already participating in the project to create the Skolkovo Iron and Steel Works.
