IBM Announces IBM SmartCamp Russia Winner

Moscow, 18 June 2013. – Today IBM SmartCamp expert committee defined the contest winner. SinproTEK, provider of innovative energy-efficient solutions for utilities and oil & gas industry, demonstrated the highest development potential, both on domestic and international markets. SinproTEK will now be engaged in the three-month mentorship program provided by IBM and will participate in one of IBM SmartCamp events in Europe.

AngioScan-Electronics, developer of healthcare solutions for early diagnosis and monitoring of socially significant diseases, was named the best in «Internet users` choice» category, based on online vote available during live stream. AngioScan-Electronics also received a partner prize of Technovations Cup.

During the final stage of IBM SmartCamp, held on June 17-18 at Digital October in Moscow, five finalists competed presenting their projects. Within IBM SmartCamp event, Russian and international leading industry experts, such as Deborah Magid, Director of software strategy, IBM Venture Capital Group, Mauricio Sucasas, Director of ISV and Developer Relations, IBM Growth Markets, Kirill Korniliev, General Manager, IBM East Europe and Asia, Alexey Komissarov, Head of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship, Moscow Government, Alexandra Johnson, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson VTB Capital Aurora, and many other experts gathered together to discuss the future of technology entrepre-neurship in Russia.

«Innovations have been influencing various industries and their players in the recent years and Russian entrepreneurs working in technology sector are no exception. This is why we launched IBM SmartCamp in Russia»– said Kirill Korniliev, General Manager, IBM Russia and CIS. – «I wish SinproTEK, the first Russian IBM SmartCamp winner, good luck in the regional competition and further success in their project».

«I see IBM SmartCamp as an important initiative, which brings Russia to a new level in understanding global approaches to technology entrepreneurship», – commented Igor Agamirzyan, General Manager and Chairman of the Board, RVC. – «I am thrilled that IBM runs this contents in Russia and that RVC Seed Fund portfolio company has been defined as the winner».

SmartCamp is part of IBM`s Global Entrepreneur program, designed to give exposure, resources and connections to well deserving startups. Participants can access IBM software and hardware free of charge, get technical enablement support, receive consulting and assistance in terms of project promotion. The program for Russia was introduced in 2012 together with RVC.
