Five Novosibirsk startups to take part in BIT competition

Five Novosibirsk startups will take part in the All-Russia contest “Business Innovation Technologies” (BIT), the website of the Commission on Modernization and Technological Development of Economy of Russia reports.

The final of the regional stage of the contest “Business Innovation Technologies” BIT-Novosibirsk was held in Novosibirsk Academgorodok, and five startup teams were selected to participate in the federal stage of the contest. A total of 50 projects will compete in the Russian semi-final.

BIT-Novosibirsk, organized by the Technopark of Novosibirsk Academgorodok, had 20 participants from IT, tool building, biotechnologies and nanotechnologies sectors.

Novosibirsk startups to take part in the federal stage of the contest are “Biodegradable Plastic from Renewable Natural Materials”, “Temperature Measuring Optic-Fiber Systems”, “Sewage Waters Cleaning System”, “Genome Telemedicine”, “Composite for Icy Road”.

Over 1,000 applications were submitted to the BIT competition in 2012. The final will be held in late June in Moscow. 12 projects will compete for a $100,000 monetary prize, internships in business-accelerators of Finland and Silicon Valley, vouchers on educational programs and other prizes.
