Novosibirsk-based lithium-ion batteries manufacturer Liotekh, created by international holding Thunder Sky Limited and Rusnano, is considering building its own technological center for developing solutions based on lithium-ion accumulators in Novosibirsk region, NanoNewsNet reports citing Aleksander Erokhin, the general director of Liotekh.
“We assume that this center will be able to take in outside contracts as well,” Mr. Erokhin said. According to him, the technological center will be testing in various modes experimental accumulators, and special climate conditions on temperature and humidity are to be created in special cameras.
The company Lithium-Ion Technologies (Liotech) is a joint company of the international holding Thunder Sky Limited and state-owned nanotechnologies company Rusnano. Liotech was created for realizing a project to produce modern lithium-ion batteries in Russia.
The project goal is fulfilling strategic national aims in the sector of energy saving and transferring transport on ecologically clean energy source.
Under the project, the JV is to build a plant in Novosibirsk region at the territory of the industrial-logistics park PNK – Tolmachevo. Production is to be equipped with four battery-production lines. Total area of the production complex is 39,000 square meters. Production process meets all the standards of technological and ecological safety. Production is scheduled to be launched in Q3 2011. The projected annual capacity is 400 million ampere-hours.
The plant’s products are to be used in electrical transport, energy, telecommunication and other sectors.
