Optogan. New Light Technologies (Optogan. NTS), the subsidiary company of Optogan group, the largest vertically integrated producer of light diodes and modern energy-efficient light technologies in the Eastern Europe and the CIS countries, has received the official status of the participant of Skolkovo Innovation Center, news site NanoNewsNet reports.
Under plans, Optogan. NTS is to carry out revolutionary scientific research and develop advanced technological decisions in the solid state lighting sector in the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
Optogan’s new science and research center is reportedly to work in cooperation with leading science institutes, specifically, the Physics and Technical Institute named after A.F. Ioffe of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS) and the St. Petersburg’s National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (NRU ITMO).
The Optogan. NTS science research center expects to receive the Skolkovo Fund grant funding for development of its science research and improvement of newest technological decisions, the firm said.
According to Vladislav Bugrov, the executive vice-president of Optogan group of companies, “Projects like Skolkobo are vital for each country in order to ensure stable economic growth and support of science research and achievements. We have an extensive experience in cooperation with international science research centers abroad, and for our company this participation in such center in Russia is a logical step. Skolkovo, encompassing in itself necessary infrastructure for science research, is to give a powerful push to development of Russian innovation projects. In the center we are going to carry out fundamental science research projects on improving our technologies, as well as development of new directions. In fact we are talking about creation of new technologies and, possibly, new sectors.”
