Ulyanovsk region to spend $66m on nuclear and innovation cluster

Authorities in Ulyanovsk region have announced plans to allocate $66m to create the federal nuclear and innovation cluster in the region.

The complex is reportedly to be located at premises of nuclear reactors science and research institute in the city of Dimitrovgrad.

Under the project, the cluster is to include the Center of Applied Nuclear Research, the Federal High-Tech Medical Center of Radiology, a plant to produce radio pharmaceuticals, an innovation technopark to host promising projects using nuclear technologies, the International Public Access Center, the branch of the National Research Nuclear University, the Center for Specialists Training in Nuclear Technologies and Medicine.

The project is scheduled to be carried out till 2020.
