19 Jun '12
Luminescent Dosimetry, an innovative company of the Urals Federal University (UrFU), has become a resident in the cluster of nuclear technologies of Skolkovo Innovation Center, with its project of automated dosimetry system “Grey”, portal reports citing UrFU.
Automated system “Grey”, based on detector of high doses of ionizing radiation, is to be used in industrial, ecological and medical purposes. Its competitive advantages, achieved with unique materials and design solutions, are extended operation range of dose registration, high radiation resistance of the detectors, faster measurement and lower cost.
The Skolkovo participant status makes the company eligible for tax benefits and special grants on innovation products development and commercialization. Earlier in late 2011 the same status was given to two other UrFU firms – “Universal Energy” and “Indoorgo NS”. The number of Skolkovo residents from UrFU may soon double or triple, as three more UrFU projects have been recently approved by Skolkovo experts, and three more are undergoing the expert assessment procedure.
