The company Intesso has opened a plant to produce light diode lights in Rostov region, NanoNewsNet reports citing the company.

The project has reportedly been carried out in partnership with Optogan, a vertically integrated producer of energy efficient light technology based on ultra-bright light diodes, founded by the companies RUSNANO, Onexim and RIK.

Total investment into the first stage of the project has come in at about $1m. The payback period is estimated at within two years.

The plant is located in Rostov region’s Oktyabrsky district.

Intesso started construction of the plant in January 2011. To date the company has completed the first stage of the project – it has opened an assembly complex, which is also the R&D center. Its production capacity is 5,000 products per month with one-shift operation mode.

Under the second stage, the company is to build the complex with technological equipment, needed to organize full-cycle production. After that, the plant’s production capacities are to reach 10,000-15,000 goods per month, depending on the market demands. Investment into the second stage of development of the production complex is also to total about $1m.

Under the first stage, about 75 jobs have been created at the plant. After the second stage, the number of jobs at the production complex is to grow to 250-300 jobs.

The main consumers of the plant’s products are municipalities that are to use products for street lights, owners of production companies, warehouses, as well as large corporate consumers, such as the Russian Railways, airports, retailers and communication operators. The sales are organized through the partnership dealership network all over Russia and CIS countries.
