The Krasnoyarsk regional government and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have signed an agreement to support regional science, reports.
Regional scientists have developed a number of technologies – from unique communication systems to newest unique satellites, NanoNewsNet reports. All of these products are ready to be applied.
“Physics Institute and Academy of Sciences of Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center have certain know-hows that would be of interest to company “Information Satellite Systems” and other firms in the city. We are hoping to receive their feedback,” said Nikita Volkov, director, Kiriyensky Physics Institute.
Krasnoyarsk science has accumulated rich experience interacting with high-tech companies, primarily those in space industry. The sector includes projects to build satellites and carrier rockets and develop GLONASS systems. A new set of projects focuses on construction of unmanned aircraft and development of nano-coatings that eliminate th need for lubricants. The agreement emphasizes focus on breakthrough technologies, including dual-purpose ones.
The agreement also has an important clause on establishing a cadre of researchers. According to Lev Kuznetsov, governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, it is important to continuously attract young scientists, discover talents, and provide them with proper living conditions.
“We can afford to provide scientists with respectable salaries, so that they don’t need to ask us for apartments but rather choose for themselves a type and location of housing, as well as other social benefits,” Mr. Kuznetsov explained.
