Novosibirsk eyes Federal Center of High Medical Technologies

The Federal Center of High Medical Technologies, specializing in neurosurgery, will open in Novosibirsk in Q1 2012, news agency reports citing regional officials.
“Construction was done using new technology – from medical module blocks with ready interior and utilities grid. The blocks were supplied from Germany between June and November 2011. As of now, construction of the above-ground structure has finished, the workers are doing facades and installing medical equipment. The complex has been connected to heat and electricity,” the release said.
According to the officials, construction will be fully completed in Q1 2012. The Center will have four functional separate blocks for a total of 95 beds: 20 in each block. Besides, the center will have a children department for 15 beds.
Construction of the complex is coordinated by the state corporation Rostechnologies under the national project “Healthcare”. The regional budget has allocated over $31.5m on the project, and the federal budget has given about $88m.
“In 2012 the Novosibirsk region budget will finance finishing works in the basement part of the façade, landscaping, construction of the fence and control station building. In 2012 the regional budget has reserved $5.7m financial limit for the project. All construction works are scheduled to be completed by September 1, 2012. Outpatient clinic for adults and kids for 80 visits per shift will start working in July 1, 2012,” the officials said.
