Prancor to open carbon nanostructured material center

17 Jul '12
Firm Prancor, based in the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad region, will open a center to produce carbon nanostructured materials, LKM Portal reports.

Nanotubes are used in coatings, including pain-and-lacquer and electrolytic coatings.

All in all, the project includes five high-tech plants. When mixed with certain types of polymers carbon nanotubes can prevent formation of chemically active films. Such materials can be added into special coatings for industrial pipelines.

Founded in 2009, Prancor works within the regional Technopolis.
