DisplAir raises $1m on screenless displays

29 May '12
Skolkovo resident, Astrakhan company DisplAir, developer of interactive screenless display, has raised $1m investment, «Ñêîëêîâî» reports.

The investment round was reportedly led by Leta Group, and followed by private Russian and international investors.

Under plans, the funds will be used to launch “semi-industrial production” of cloud 3D screens. Earlier DisplayAir was estimated at $6m.

The $1m makes up seed-stage finance, the investors specified. In the future Leta Group will grow share of its financial participation in the Russian startup. In late 2012 the second project stage will be launched, with participation of other institutional investors.

Earlier Marchmont wrote that DisplAir had developed a brand new type of screen that projects high-quality videos and images into air (see news of November 28, 2011). The screen is touch-sensitive, as it is enabled by an infra-red camera.
