This year’s International Business Angels Assembly took place in St. Petersburg on 25 April in Smolny Palace and on 26 April in the Corinthia Nevsky Palace Hotel.

The International Business Angels Assembly is supported by the Plenipotentiary Representative of RF President, Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and other major organizations of the city and region.

Business angel investing is one of the most important elements of the new economy, economy of knowledge. A business angel lays future well-being for himself, his partners and country by investing in technology, intelligence, a creative team.

Nowadays there are huge opportunities for high technology development in Russia. But the lack of pre and seed funding complicates technology implementation. If private investors take part in the early stages of projects development, Russia will have a chance to take a place among the leading innovative countries in the most advanced areas of technology.

Business angel investment success is largely achieved through favorable business and friendly relations between investors, inventors, managers of a company, and their work together as a team. Business angels make to the company not only money but also experience, knowledge and business connections.
