Artificial intelligence creates design for pet products

17 Sep '21
The Russian company PerseiLine, a manufacturer of pet products, taught the neural network to generate design ideas based on its own catalogs, as well as on a database of patterns related to the topic of pet supplies. The training was carried out on the basis of 1800 pictures, most of which are graphic patterns.

Artificial intelligence had two objectives. The first is to learn how to create textures in which the elements do not overlap. The second is to learn how to identify similar elements from different pictures and draw them in a unique style. As the company admits, a completely different style of performance was originally expected. But the designs that AI started to create turned out to be very interesting and unusual.

In order to protect authorship, the pattern from the neural network was turned into a digital asset using the NFT technology (digital cryptographic certificate).
One way or another, the time will soon come when most designers will use AI in their design projects. We just did it a little earlier in our field than others, says Alexander Burov, Director of PerseiLine.
The first AI-designed pet supplies will arrive in September 2021.
