Russian optical transformer production localized in Switzerland

Resident of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone, Profotek company localizes in Switzerland the production of optical transformers for exporting products to the markets of Europe and North America.

This was announced by the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the city of Moscow, Alexander Prokhorov. The agreement between the metropolitan enterprise and Condis SA will be signed next year for a period of five years with the possibility of extension. A customer service center will also open in Switzerland.
“Last year, the export of the capital industry amounted to $ 27.8 billion, which is almost 32% more than a year earlier. The share of Moscow in the total volume of Russian exports is more than 43%, including 20% ​​of non-primary non-energy exports. Of course, the pandemic affected international projects, but did not paralyze them. For example, Profotech and Condis SA, a Swiss manufacturer of energy equipment, have agreed to expand cooperation. The agreement provides for the localization of transformer assemblies in Switzerland. The products under the Condis-Profotech joint brand will be delivered to the markets of Europe and North America, ”said Alexander Prokhorov.
Profotech became a resident of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone two years ago. According to the general director of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ Gennady Degtev, during this time the company has significantly expanded the geography of distribution.
“In the territory of the special economic zone, the company Profotek creates a magnetically sensitive optical fiber, carries out the development, production and maintenance of electronic current and voltage transformers. The company has been collaborating with Condis SA for more than three years. During this time, domestic products were exported to the markets of Italy, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Finland. Now, as part of a joint project with Condis SA, the resident delivers innovative optical transformers to Canada during the year, ”added Gennady Degtev.
Profotek, a participant in the national project Digital Substation, implemented in consortium with other domestic manufacturers. The company plans to develop the markets of China, Brazil, and Vietnam.
