RVC SmartFuture will be part of a much broader event, the international Open Innovation forum. The Forum is meant to become a global venue for discussion, bringing together business people, government officials and academia from different countries for joint analysis of major international trends in innovation development and exchange of experience. Its co-organizers reportedly include Russia’s largest nanotech company, Rusnano; Russian Venture Company; VEB Bank; the Bortnik Fund supporting innovative early-stage technology ideas; the Moscow government; and the Russian federal government.
According to Alexander Potapov, an RVC deputy CEO and member of the RVC management board, RVC SmartFuture is aimed at “…sensitizing the Forum participants to the current status of Russia’s venture business, its trends and RVC’s programs to develop the innovation ecosystem, as well as encouraging market players to discuss a broad range of vital issues.”
RVC SmartFuture is said to include three topical sections, namely, InvestDay, Market Access and Smart People. Russian Venture Company is scheduling about 30 sub-events to take place not only at the ExpoCenter exhibition hall where the main Forum will be held, but also at other well-known Moscow innovation venues, such as Digital October, the Flakon design factory, congress centers at City and National University of Science and Technology “MISIS,” and some others.
