5 Jul '12
The company Wobot has become a resident in Skolkovo, an innovation complex under completion near Moscow, with the project to build a search platform in social media for businesses, innovation and venture news source UNOVA reports.
The company intends to develop a unique search machine in social networks, blogs and forums. With communication space in Internet expanding, people share opinions on brands and products they use and discuss recent news and events in forums, blogs, and social networks. Each company, competing on the market, needs a comfortable feedback instrument through social media.
By “hearing” its audience in Internet a company can study opinions and wishes of its consumers, react to events in a timely manner, and bring producer-consumer interaction to new levels. Social media also provide a set of tools for assessing audience, quality of brand promotion in Internet, and consumer-producer relationships.
The project developers believe that the status of Skolkovo resident will help Wobot to make another step towards markets of Western Europe, North America and Asia.
Wobot was founded by a young team of graduates of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and is a portfolio company of the Russian Venture Company (RVC) Seed Fund. The project has won many Russian and foreign contests, including the national entrepreneurship contest BIT, contest of Microsoft Seed Investment Fund in Russia, contest of innovation projects of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and others. The project team also interned in one of the best American business-incubators.
