FSK UES and Skolkovo to hold contest of innovations
8 Feb '12
National grid operator FSK UES has announced a contest of innovation projects in the energy efficiency sector, news agency reports.
The contest organizer is the Skolkovo Fund.
The new project aims to search for innovation technologies that would increase energy efficiency in the energy grid complex.
Roman Berdnikov, the deputy chairman of FSK UES, specified that the company was putting emphasis on a “smart energy” development model that would best respond to the needs of society, including increased safety and quality requirements, development of distributed power, and the introduction of more consumer-sensitive management.
FSK UES is said to be interested in implementing the best solutions in its production processes.
The contest will be held until February 20, with its results to be announced on February 28 at a roundtable that will bring together energy companies FSK UES, MRSK Holding and RusHydro.
FSK UES is not the first company in the sector to show interest to innovation technologies. TNK-BP held similar contest in September 2011; LUKOIL became actively involved in innovations in 2010, the news agency said.
