The Russian Venture Company (RVC) and the company “Naukoyomkie Tekhnologii” (Science Technologies) have launched a web resource LearnIP on the issues of documenting, owing and using intellectual property, innovation and venture news source UNOVA reports citing RVC.

The website has reportedly been developed for authors of inventions and rationalizations, scientists, teachers, postgraduate and undergrad students, technological entrepreneurs, who want to turn their intellectual property into a business asset, on one hand, and business-angels and venture investors on the other hand.

The project is aimed at helping an inventor, who is inexperienced in legal details, to find the best solution on the issues of intellectual property according to his details. LearnIP is an information-educational service. Thus, the section Video contains a set of online-videocourses, prepared by specialists in the field of information systems. The service “Q&A: Questions and Answers” expands users’ functions: it help to ask a question and get and answer of an expert of the site, as well as answer questions of other users of comment other people’s answers.

In the future the set of services will be expanded to providing consulting and legal services.

According to Aleksey Odinokov, the general director of Science Technologies, the main difference of LearnIP from existing IP-resources is concentration of informational, educations and analytical data in one portal. “LearnIP will also be of use to innovation technological companies that enter the global market,” he added.

In his turn, Andrey Vvedensky, the director of the department of programs and projects of RVC, noted that the issues of commercialization and protection of intellectual property become more and more important for all participants of the innovation process: venture investors, technological entrepreneurs, startupers. “LearnIP is an infrastructure project of RVC, aimed at offering at the technological entrepreneurship market information, competencies and services in the field of managing intangible assets,” he said.
