Odnoklassniki integrates with Mail.Ru Group’s other projects

30 Sep '11
Social network (SNS) Odnoklassniki has started integration with other projects of its Mother-company Mail.Ru Group, by placing hyperlinks to various Mail.Ru resources at the upper panel of the SNS, news source Digit reports.

A limited number of Odnoklassniki users have got access to a new upper panel with links to various Mail.Ru’s projects: mail, social network “Moy Mir”, the main page of Mail.Ru portal, games, dating website and others. On the new panel the users will be able to see messages on the updates, such as information on the number of unread emails.

Since August 2011 all Odnoklassniki users can communicate through another messenger Mail.Ru@Agent, owned by Mail.Ru Group.

The administration of Odnoklassniki has not yet commented on the novelties. However, according to a famous Internet-expert Anton Merkurov, such integration of the social network with other Mail.Ru Group projects is quite logical.

“Mail.Ru Group is right to be building in its other projects in Odnoklassniki, and this way attracting traffic. It would be smart in the future to make this integration even closer and, for example, replace the messages service on the SNS with Mail.Ru mail,” Mr. Merkurov said.

Odnoklassniki is one of the largest social network sites in the Runet. According to the firm TNS’ data, in June the SNS had 7.8 million daily users, up 44% on the last year number.

Mail.ru Group owns 100% in mail and entertainment service Mail.ru, Internet-messenger ICQ and social network Odnoklassniki, as well as 97% in HeadHunter resource, 39.9% in social network site VKontakte, 21.35% shares in paying service Qiwi, 2.4% in Facebook and other assets.
