This is a joint project of the state corporation Rosatom, TVEL, the local Machine Building Plant, the town administration, the local Educational Department and the gymnasium #21, which is considered the most suitable school for opening such class.

Under the project, the fuel company TVEL has carried out repair works in the classrooms, purchased textbooks and new modern equipment.

Vadim Davydov, the deputy head of the administration of the town of Electrostal, said that the goal of making the atomic class was to ensure deeper individual knowledge for the school students. Since the project is coordinated by the fuel company TVEL and state corporation Rosatom, the most talented and skilled students will be able to get employment with the atomic companies of the country in the future.

This year the fuel company TVEL has opened such classes in six regions in Russia, in the future such classes are to appear in more schools.

Galina Mishakova, the head of the office of modernization of education of the Educational Department of the town of Electrostal, talked about the project in more detail: “Kids will be taught on normal educational programs, as well as advanced programs. The teachers need to ensure that students receive a worthy level of knowledge, as well as motivation for getting a higher education degree. Besides us, the educational process is also to include representatives of the Machine Building Plant, Rosatom and TVEL, in order to improve the quality of education. Each student in the atomic class is to choose individually which disciplines to study on the advanced program. Such advanced programs are offered in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Literature, Social Sciences, Foreign Language. The students from this class will be actively involved in the academic Olympics both of the national level, as well as the ones, organized by TVEL and Rosatom. The scientific advisor of the project is the National Research Nuclear University MEPHI. We are very happy to take part in this. I am sure that joint efforts of industrialists, scientists, teachers, students and their parents will bring high results.”
