Kaluga region to get $50m RF funding for Obninsk technopark

Authorities in Kaluga region have started construction of the IT and biotechnologies technopark in the town of Obninsk, regional Governor Anataoly Artamonov told journalists.

Under plans, by 2015 Kaluga region is to get $50m from the federal budget on the technopark construction.

The 52-hectare technopark reportedly consists of two sites with the center in the Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Energy.

Under the project, one site is to be used for expansion of the Obninsk Nuclear Medicine Center, opened in cooperation with Rosatom state corporation.

Technopark is also to have plants to produce medicines and substances for medical institutions and a business-incubator, the officials said.
