IKEA marches on, plans $173m Togliatti Mega

16 Jul '08
Swedish furniture retailer IKEA has announced plans to build a $173m Mega in Togliatti, its second in the Samara region.

The store is to be built on a 30-hectare site, which previously belonged to an agricultural company Rossiya, the firm said.

The 130,000 sq. meter mall is the company's second in Samara. Its first store, which began construction last year, has yet to open.

The company's spokesman didn't disclose project timeframes and other parameters for the new mall, explaining that currently the firm is negotiating land issues with the regional government.
