Tomsk SEZ residents to get low-rise housing

Tomsk region administration, SEZ operation Special Economic Zones (SEZ), and non-commercial partnership the National Agency of Low-Rise and Cottage Housing (NAMIKS) have signed a cooperation agreement to develop construction low-rise housing and social infrastructure for residents of Tomsk special economic zone (SEZ), news agency RIA Novosti reports.

According to Oleg Kostin, CEO of SEZ, the document will result in improved social infrastructure and better attractiveness of Tomsk SEZ.

Under the agreement, operator SEZ will provide information about Tomsk SEZs residents demand for housing and develop housing construction financing schemes. Tomsk region administration will provide land slots for construction of houses, engineering and social infrastructure.

The document was reportedly signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Tomsk SEZ was founded in December 2005. As of June 2012, SEZ has 57 residents with claimed private investment to top $500m. Tomsk SEZs residents specialize in telecommunication equipment, microelectronics, information and digital technologies, nanotechnologies and energy saving.
