New town planning for Bor costs 2.4 million dollars

Nizhny Novgorod oblast has allocated 2.4 million dollars towards a scheme for deciding the town planning of the central part of the city of Bor and its surrounding areas. One of the aims is to create a business and recreational hub.

The funding will be provided under the terms of the regional programme entitled the development of the social infrastructure of the Nizhny Novgorod area as a means of raising the standard of living during 2007-2008.

The project should see the construction of flats, kindergartens, schools, libraries, museums, exhibition halls and other public amenities, spread over an area of 3,600 hectares.

It is estimated that the project will be ready by 20 November 2008.
