South-Ural Railways to invest $83m in development

In 2008 South-Ural Railways (a division of Russian Railways) plans to spend $83m on improving its infrastructural facilities.

Projects included in the companys 2008 investment program are targeted at increasing traffic handling capacities of major stations and junctions.

The projects total cost is estimated in the region of $292m and is expected to be completed in 2015. In 2008 around $13.7m is planned to be spent on the construction of new railway tracks.
