Foreign-built farm equipment favored by Altay agribusiness

In 2007 Altay regional agricultural businesses purchased farm equipment worth a total of around $165m, regional authorities reported.

Most popular were combines manufactured by New Holland (Netherlands), John Deere and LAAS (the USA) and Buhle (Germany).

The regions Chief Agriculture Management Office forecasts that in 2008 local agricultural businesses plan to purchase $207-248 worth of new vehicles.
