The Omsk region construction materials production to grow 25%

In 2008 output of construction materials in the Omsk region is to grow by 25% compared to 2007 due to commissioning of new production facilities.

The regional program named Development and Modernization of Construction Materials Factories that has been approved for the period until 2010 envisages construction of over 20 new factories to manufacture cement, concrete goods, dry mortar, brick and goods out of gas concrete.

As a part of a project realized by the local authorities of the region and Territorial Generating Company #11, innovation companies are being set up on the territory of Omsks heat power stations to manufacture construction materials using ash-slag waste.

In 2007 23 new factories manufacturing construction materials were commissioned in the Omsk region. Last year, the region produced construction materials worth $243.4m.
