Chelyabinsk seeks $48M for housing renovation

The Chelyabinsk city officials have requested 1.2 billion rubles ($48m) from the federal budget to renovate existing housing.

«We are first among other cities who have filed the complete request with the Ministry of Housing,» First Deputy Mayor Viktor Davydov said, «We plan to obtain the whole requested sum from the Fund for renovating housing and community services.»

Mr. Davydov announced that special attention would be paid to housing with the highest wear and tear rate. Funding renovation for the whole city is estimated at 12 billion rubles ($480m), he said.
