The roads of Chelyabinsk to be wider and longer for $720m

The roads of Chelyabinsk will undergo a modernization process. This will be get underway some time before 2010.

The plan is also to increase the length of thoroughfares in the region from 251km to 311km. Also the width of the main roads of the city will be expanded from 15 to 25 metres.

The authors of the project estimate that it will take 4 years and will cost $720m to complete the proposed plans. This money will be drawn from the purse of the local government as well as from private investment.
