Russian Copper creates nickel extraction firm, will investment $640m

Russian Copper Company has established Russian Nickel Company to be focused on nickel extraction and processing. The investment in this production is expected to reach $640m before 2011.
Russian Nickel Company was registered at the end of 2007. It includes businesses that own licenses for the development of cobalt-nickel deposits in the Chelyabinsk and Altay regions.
The total amount of known reserves in these deposits exceeds 440,000 tons of nickel. The amount of forecasted reserves is in excess of 714,000 tons.
