UGMK to spend $48.4m on Ekaterinburg surface metro

A new surface metro is planned to connect Ekaerinburg and its satellite town Verkhniaya Pishma. UGMK will contribute $48.4 m to the project.

The agreement about the project was reached between Arkadiy Chernetsky, Ekaterinburg Governor and Andrey Kozitsin, a Director General of UGMK Holding, a major Ural ferrous and rolled metal producer. The project is due to be realized within 2 or 3 years.
