A special economic zone project has been presented in Tomsk. The Moscow architects responsible for its development had involved numerous foreign experts into the project. The project plan has passed public hearing and has been approved by the town-planning committee.
According to its developers, the project aims at setting up comfortable living conditions for the would-be residents and the highest possible environmental friendliness.
The establishment of a special economic zone will allow to create high employment opportunities (at least 21,000 new jobs), mainly for high-skilled staff. Construction is to be implemented stage-by-stage. The first stage should comprise the erection of the main building.
So far the developed territory includes the processing area of the special economic zone and its housing as well as public services complex with two buildings where the first residents are supposed to work. The total project cost is estimated at $1.5bn.
