Surgutneftegaz purchases 21.2% in Hungarian MOL for $1.8bn

Oil company Surgutneftegaz, based in Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, is to purchase 21.2% shares in Hungarian oil company MOL from Austrian OMV Group for $1.8bn, OMV reports.

After the deal is finalized, OMV is no longer MOLs shareholder, the firm said.

MOL Group includes Hungarian chemical company TNK, Slovakian oil company Slovnaft and Austrian retailer Roth. MOL is a member of a strategic partnership with Croatian INA.
