NOVATEK’s $6bn Inter RAO gas deal aired

14 Jan '10
Gas producer NOVATEK will supply the North-West TETs power station run by energy giant Inter RAO UES with $777m worth of natural gas over the next five years, Inter RAO announces.

Earlier gas monopoly Gazprom was the exclusive gas provider for Inter RAO run power stations, it adds.

Under a separate contract, NOVATEK will reportedly sell more than $5.2bn worth of gas to the OGC-1 energy wholesaler, also controlled by Inter RAO.

NOVATEK is Russia’s second largest independent gas producer operating in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
