Kamchatka ends precious metal mining season

Kamchatkas precious metal mining season is over, regional officials report saying that this year companies have produced 817 kilograms of platinum and 182 kilograms of gold.

It is a reported 21% year-on-year drop in alluvial gold and 43% fall in placer platinum production.

According to the officials, the reason for the decrease is depletion of explored reserves.
