Under plans, the new mine is to be built instead of a closed and inactive Lapichevskaya mine. Earlier Langfeld Enterprises Ltd had purchased 70% in Mine Lapichvskaya, Kommersant said.

The mine’s projected annual capacity is 2.5 million tons a year.

The mine is scheduled to be put into commission by 2012.
