Yuzhny Kuzbass buys $29.9m worth of trucks

Kemerovo-based mining company Yuzhny Kuzbass, a subsidiary of Mechel, has purchased heavy-duty trucks to carry coal worth a total of $29.9m, sources in the company reported today.

All trucks will be serving the Olzherassky coal deposit.

At present Yuzhny Kuzbass' fleet consists of 155 BelAZ heavy-duty dump trucks (manufactured in Belarus). Their payload ranges between 55 and 220 tons.

In 2007 the company spent over $19.1m on new trucks.
