Chukotka’s Q1 gold ore up 10 times y/y

Chukotka gold miners produced more than 10 tons of gold ore and over 95 tons of silver in the first quarter, regional officials reported today.

The results are reportedly 10 and 20 times up y/y, respectively.

According to the officials, in 2008, Chukotka was Russia’s second largest gold extractor after Krasnoyarsk Region with 21.8 tons of gold produced.
